AIM TUTOR / MENTOR APPLICATION INFO
- Arts and Crafts - Prepare arts and crafts projects for youth in grades 1-5. Two hours a week.
- Arts and Craft Instructor - Teach arts and crafts-two days a week-two one hour classes. Lead groups of children in fun arts and crafts, educational seminars during our summer program. You should enjoy working with elementary age children. (Must be 14 years of age or up.)
- Youth Mentor - Work with youth in developed program: Achievement in the Making (AIM), work on youth leadership and empowerment. The Program runs a after-school program for at-risk youth. The program runs Monday – Thursday from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. Volunteers are needed to help the children with their homework, play games, help with snack and cleanup, and provide a good role model for the children.
- Lawn Care - Cut grass and trim around Union High Building-one day a week, or as needed.
- Strategic Planning - Coordinate and implement strategic planning process for collaboration of community service agencies. Serve on various committees including public relations, operations, programming, concert, and fund raising.

Volunteer Lab Assistants
Volunteers are needed to assist in our Life Long Learning Center (computer lab and lending library). The center is open Monday-Thursday from 10:00am-3:00pm with flexible time commitments for individuals. Volunteers must possess general computer knowledge with a warm and friendly attitude. Duties include but not limited to helping lab users with internet use, applying for jobs, checking books in and out of the library, straightening the center and creating a welcoming atmosphere for people of all ages. Perfect volunteer opportunity for students as down time will allow volunteers an opportunity to study and work on homework assignments.
AIM After School Tutor/Computer Assistants
Volunteers are needed to assist with students in our afterschool tutoring program. This position will require volunteers to work with children both on homework and study skills or learning how to use computers while focusing on reading, literacy, math and developing computer skills. Volunteers must be friendly and work well with children. Basic knowledge of computer functions a plus. Times needed are Monday-Thursday from 3:00pm-4:30pm.
A Call to Teach
The Gallatin Shalom Zone is looking for community volunteers to assist in teaching a wide range of classes in our Life Long Learning Center. Class ideas include basic computer, couponing, budgeting, crochet, arts and crafts and health and wellness! Classes are not limited to just these ideas and others ideas our welcome. Our goal is to teach our clients the skills they need in order to become self-sufficient. Volunteers need not have to have a degree of professional licenses, but must have a strong understanding of their craft and a passion and desire to pass on these skills to others.
